❄️ Inclement Weather & Power Outages at Salt and Sage

As we move into the stormier season here in the Pacific Northwest, I wanted to take a moment to share what you can expect from us in the event of inclement weather or power outages.

At Salt and Sage, our first priority is always your safety and comfort (and our team’s, too).

When the power goes out, here’s how we handle it:

  1. Esthetic Services:
  2. Facials and other esthetic services rely on consistent lighting, warm water, and reliable power for equipment. If the power goes out, all esthetic services will be cancelled or rescheduled.
  3. Massage Appointments:
  4. Massage requires much less equipment, but we still need adequate lighting to ensure client and therapist safety, and the indoor temperature must remain above 60°. If those conditions can’t be met, your appointment will be rescheduled.
  5. Partial Power Loss:
  6. In our building, it’s common to lose some but not all power—for example, the lights might go out while the heat stays on, or certain outlets may stop working. While it’s rare that we lose power completely, it’s always a possibility, and we stay prepared to make quick, safe decisions if that happens.
  7. If the Power Goes Out Suddenly:
  8. We keep battery-operated lights and flashlights on hand so we can safely guide clients and maintain calm until power is restored or appointments can be adjusted.

If a storm affects your appointment, please keep an eye on your phone or email for updates. We’ll reach out as soon as possible with any changes or rescheduling options.

🧭 Winter Roads & Safety for the 2025–2026 Season

This winter will look a little different for me personally — starting in January, I’ll be moving about 40 minutes away from the office. This will be the first winter in Salt and Sage history that I won’t be just five minutes away!

Because of that, I’ll be a bit more diligent about cancelling appointments when road conditions are unsafe. Your time is valuable, but so is everyone’s safety, and I want to make sure that both you and I can travel safely to and from the office.

Here’s what that means for the upcoming season:

  1. I’ll be limiting evening appointments during January and February, when road conditions are most unpredictable.
  2. We’ll have built-in overflow days available to reschedule clients if needed due to snow, ice, or other weather-related challenges.
  3. As always, I’ll continue to be understanding and flexible if you need to reschedule because of weather where you are.

Every winter, I’ve prioritized my clients’ safety, and that commitment remains unchanged. I deeply appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and continued support as we all navigate the winter months together.

Stay safe, drive slow, and know that your well-being — both on and off the table — always comes first.
